3 Day Culture & Wildlife Experience in Ecuador
Immerse yourself in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest, where nature and culture intertwine. This three-day adventure takes you deep into the Yasuní Biosphere Reserve, offering wildlife encounters, cultural exchanges, and breathtaking river excursions—all while supporting the Kichwa Añangu community’s sustainable conservation efforts.
Day 1: After a 30-minute flight over the Eastern Andes, arrive in Coca and transfer by boat and motorized canoe to the Napo Cultural Center. A traditional Wayusa drink welcomes you before settling into your jungle lodge Spend the afternoon exploring—climb an observation tower for panoramic views and wildlife spotting, or take a sunset kayak ride along the Napo River. Return to the lodge for dinner and rest in the serene Amazon setting.
Day 2: Start the day with a boat trip to the Parrot Clay Lick in Yasuní National Park, where vibrant parrots, parakeets, and macaws gather in a stunning natural spectacle. Follow the Parakeet Trail, keeping an eye out for monkeys and other wildlife. Next, visit the Kury Muyu intercultural center, where Kichwa women share their traditions and handmade crafts. After lunch, explore the Añangu stream by canoe, spotting wildlife along the way. In the evening, enjoy a catamaran ride with Kichwa legends and traditional songs, accompanied by fire-roasted snacks.
Day 3: Your final day begins with a sunrise breakfast and visits to sustainable community projects, gaining insight into Kichwa traditions. Hike through the terra firme forest, discovering towering ceiba trees and playful monkeys. After lunch, ascend a second observation tower for prime birdwatching. Dinner features traditional Amazonian dishes like maito and chontakuru (roasted chonta worms). End the journey with an exciting night walk, where the jungle comes alive with insects, reptiles, and nocturnal mammals.
Your Local Impact
The Napo Wildlife Center is fully owned and operated by the Kichwa Añangu community, ensuring tourism directly supports conservation, employment, and education. The lodge funds local schools that teach English and tourism skills, empowering future generations while protecting the rainforest. By visiting, you contribute to sustainable livelihoods and the preservation of the Amazon’s biodiversity.
