Day 2: Gentle cycling (20km) to explore Koh Chang, taking in a local village, Chinese shrine, a secret beach and pine forest and a viewpoint where you can see the whole island laid out below. Finish with a dip in a waterfall and lunch at a local restaurant. (B/L)

Day 3: Depart for Koh Mak where traffic is limited to a couple of motorbikes and pick up trucks and there are no shopping centers, supermarkets or ATM machines. The perfect place to get away from it all! Optional trip to Koh Kham, which has a fantastic powdery white beach where you can enjoy the afternoon sunbathing, swimming or snorkelling. Later head back to Koh Mak for a delicious dinner. (B/L/D)

Day 4: Today, take a boat trip to the islands of Koh Rang, the best area for snorkelling in Koh Chang National Park and also renowned among scuba divers. After marvelling at the multitude of tropical fish, enjoy lunch on the boat and return to Koh Maak at your leisure. (B/L)

Day 5: Hop over to your next tropical island, Koh Kood, right next to the Cambodian border and still heavily forested, making it as much of a nature-lovers paradise as a beach-bum’s. Relax after checking in to your hotel, or explore the lush coastline and nearby reefs. (B/D)

Day 6: Tour the island by local bus and visit the most attractive beaches, swim in the fresh waters of the island’s main waterfall and stop at the oldest fishing village on the island, Ao Salat, where local pirates harboured in the old days. Lunch is provided at a renowned local restaurant, then return to your hotel at leisure. (Optional: kayaking in mangrove forest)  (B/L)

Day 7: Spend the morning lapping up the last of the sun on the golden sands, before leaving the beach behind and heading back to your Bangkok hotel. Of course you may just want to stay a little longer... (B)
