2 Day Wildlife Experience in Thailand
Experience the pristine beauty of Kaeng Krachan National Park on this two-day camping adventure. Perfect for nature lovers and birding enthusiasts, this trip blends wildlife exploration, trekking, and organic farming. Set against the backdrop of Thailand’s largest national park, this journey offers fresh air, abundant birdlife, and a unique insight into sustainable practices. For avid birders, longer, birding-focused tours can be arranged upon request.
Day 1: Start your adventure at 09:00 at Kaeng Krachan’s Khao Samyot ticket booth, where you’ll hop aboard a 4WD vehicle bound for Baan Krang Campsite. Along the way you’ll enjoy your first birding experience and watch for wildlife in their natural habitat. After arriving at the campsite, settle in and enjoy a hearty lunch prepared at the on-site kitchen.
In the afternoon, you’ll lace up your boots and embark on a guided trek along a natural trail, immersing yourself in the rainforest for approximately two hours. Return to camp to rest before dinner, followed by an exciting night safari. While sightings aren’t guaranteed, you may encounter animals such as Malayan porcupines, Asian palm civets, sun bears, or even owls. Spend the night at the campsite, surrounded by the soothing sounds of the forest.
Day 2: Rise early to stroll around the campsite and spot some of the park’s many bird species. After breakfast, check out and begin the journey to the Kok Nong Na Organic and Agricultural Model Project. Along the way, enjoy a kayaking adventure, paddling 5-10 km through serene waters to reach the project site.
At the model project, learn about sustainable organic farming practices and observe how local farmers minimise their environmental footprint. A delicious lunch of clean, locally-sourced food awaits you at Suan Petch River View Resort before your trip concludes between 14:00 and 15:00.
Your Local Impact
This tour is designed with sustainability at its core, balancing exploration with responsibility. The itinerary minimises transport by prioritising walking, trekking, and kayaking to reduce carbon emissions. Accommodation at the campsite avoids high-energy comforts like air conditioning and hot water, aligning with eco-conscious values. Meals are prepared with locally sourced ingredients, ensuring freshness and hygiene while avoiding food waste through portion control.
Plastic waste is significantly reduced by providing refillable water bottles and cooler boxes for guest use. Additionally, the tour provider offsets the carbon footprint of each participant, amounting to 11.6 kg CO2e per traveller from the meeting point to the tour’s end. By participating, you directly support conservation efforts and the preservation of Kaeng Krachan’s unique biodiversity.
