1/2 Day Cultural Experience in Thailand
Dive into the heart of Buddhist culture with a serene afternoon meditation experience at Wat Mahathat, Bangkok’s renowned meditation centre and its first Buddhist university. This peaceful journey provides a unique opportunity to learn the foundational principles of mindfulness directly from a practicing monk.
Begin your experience with a pick-up from your hotel at 12:00 for a short transfer to Wat Mahathat, one of Bangkok’s most historically significant temples and a hub for meditation. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by a monk who will guide you through the day’s activities, sharing insights about Buddhist teachings and personal experiences with meditation.
The meditation course is rooted in the Buddha’s Four Foundations of Mindfulness: mindfulness of the body, feelings, mind, and dhamma. Under the monk’s guidance, you’ll learn simple yet profound techniques to cultivate inner calm and awareness. Once introduced to the principles, take time to practice alongside locals in this authentic setting, enjoying a deeper connection to Thailand’s spiritual traditions.
Feel centred and enriched by the teachings as your session concludes. Bid farewell to the monks and return to your hotel with a newfound understanding of Buddhist meditation practices and mindfulness.
