With its profusion of canals and temples, Bangkok was known as the 'Venice of the East'. Life along the river and canals has become an inseparable part of the Thai lifestyle and today it remains one of the most interesting ways to see the capital. You can meander through the fascinating district of Thonburi, visiting the warren of backwater canals witnessing a traditional lifestyle which has hardly changed over the years. Or experience the Chao Phraya river by night, with its illuminated landmarks, historical buildings and gorgeous temples along the banks.

Option 1: Pick up from hotel by car/bus and transfer to Talingchan boat pier. Then take a long-tail boat, a traditional and speedy form of river transport, to reach a converted rice barge that will take you down the river in comfort. Enjoy a gentle cruise along the winding canals of Thonburi passing by venerable temples among lush greenery, wooden houses built on stilts, coconut groves, garlanded shrines and spirit houses and vendors offering goods from their boats. Soft drinks and seasonal tropical fruits are served.

Option 2: We can arrange a variety of evening cruises on either traditional Thai style or modern luxury boats, offering you warm breezes, a comfortable and romantic atmosphere and great dining on board. Choose from a variety of meals, ranging from Thai or seafood set menus to international buffets and enjoy traditional dancing and music shows as you pass Bangkok landmarks such as the Temple of Dawn and Temple of the Emerald Buddha.
